Alex McCormack - Belgium

Alex is a multiple-time vice champion in breaking in the Benelux and has

taught various street styles since 2006. In 2013, Alex discovered old

films such as Hellzapoppin and The Spirit Moves, which set him on a path

to learn and teach the “old-style” of Lindy Hop and jazz. He believes

v202501mastering the foundations is key to understanding the dance and

personalizing it. His motto is: “Master the foundation to understand the

dance and personalize to contribute to it.

” He regularly jams to uptempo

Bebop Swing, mambo, and slow blues. Alex also trains with the group Old Soulz

Jill Demuelenaere - Belgium

Jill started dancing at a young age and is trained in classical ballet,

modern jazz, contemporary dance, and yoga. She has been teaching for

several years and now splits her time between her passion for dancing,

her work as a contemporary dance and theater producer, a massage

therapist, and a yoga instructor. Jill’s style is deeply influenced by

the authentic vernacular dancing from old movies and the African roots of

dance. She strives for freedom in her dancing while staying true to the

legacy of the dance. She enjoys fast athletic Lindy Hop, rhythmic mambo,

and slow dragging blues.


Hyunjung Choi - Korea

Hyunjung Choi is a swing dancer, instructor and choreographer who currently leads the swing dance performance team Night and Day. Having majored in Korean traditional dance and enjoyed various dances such as dance sport and ballet, she came across swing dance in 2005, and instantly became fascinated by the dance.


In 2006, she met her partner Soochan Lee. Since then, they have been teaching various lindy hop classes with new ideas, aiming for the growth of Korean swing dance scene. Starting with taking the first place at the 2009 Korea Swing Festival, they participated in various competitions in US since 2010. As a result, they strengthened their partnership and placed in various competitions including the first place in Open Strictly of 2012 Camp Hollywood and second place in All-Star Strictly of 2013 International Lindy Hop Championship.
She is a passionate dancer who strives to better express herself, and her delightful dancing gives positive energy to everyone who watches her dance.

Rikard Ekstrand - Sweden

Rikard Ekstrand was first inspired to start dancing in the early age of seven. Today it's his life and his way of living. Best chance to see this dancing creature is to visit Stockholm, Sweden, were he's most often found. His focus in swing dancing and teaching lies in the art of rhythm, music and partnering. Except from swing dancing, Rikard is a quite well known street dancer in Sweden. He sees swing dancing as an artform and a culture legacy. Recreation of old techniques and styles is what makes Rikard go wild. He calls himself a student more than a dancer. "In the school of dance and rhythm you will never be fully skilled". In 2006 Rikard started his cooperation with the Harlem Hot Shots and in 2008 he became a member.


Rikard also have a passion for competition, in which he has a long list of titles in both Lindy Hop and Boogie Woogie.

Young Kang - Korea

Young started dancing with jazz dance in 2000 and began swing dancing through “Crazy Swing” in 2005. Since then, she has studied various fields to improve her skills as a swing dancer, and has been active as a swing dancer and instructor since 2007, performing and teaching at various events in Korea’s representative swing dance community. She teaches Lindy Hop as well as Charleston, Balboa, Blues, Solo Jazz, and Shag, hoping to provide more swing dancers with the opportunity to experience different styles and grow. 


After seeing the performance of the Swedish group “The Harlem Hot Shots” in Korea in 2006, Young has participated in various events and competitions, both big and small. Since 2008, she has gained various experiences at international events such as Herrang Dance Camp, ULHS, Camp Hollywood, ESDC, Lindy Focus, Camp Jitterbug, Frankie 100, GWSO, Sea Jam, and California Balboa Classic. Based on these experiences, she has planned many swing dance events and performances. Since the PSSF competition in 2009, she has won various awards in several categories at domestic and international competitions such as KLHC, ILHC, and NJC. Since 2015, she has been active as a professional swing dancer both domestically and internationally. Since 2006, Young has gained experience as a dancer in various performance teams. 


Since 2011, she has participated in the choreography and planning of all performances of “night and day” and presented an independent theatrical swing dance performance in 2014. In 2020, she founded a new performance team called “Happy Feet” and has been focusing on online content planning and production to expand the reach of swing dance and present performances that reflect the times. Moreover, since 2023, “Feels So Good” has been a solo jazz performance team, aiming to show a dance that combines authentic jazz dance with a modern and popular feeling. Young is striving to deeply understand the history, culture, and fashion of swing dance to share the joy of swing dance with more people. Currently, she is actively engaged as a dancer, instructor, judge, choreographer, director, and planner in various domestic and international communities, events, broadcasts, and other projects.

Soochan Lee - Korea

Soochan’s dancing career began with street dance in 1991 before transitioning to swing dance in 2002. He began his career as an instructor in 2004, and is well-known in Korea’s many dance communities as one of the forerunners of the swing dance scene. In 2005, he became a professional swing dancer, devoting all of his time and energy to honing his skills and promoting dance in Korea and abroad. Since becoming a professional dancer, he has given countless lessons and made substantial contributions to the growth and development of swing dance. Since 2008 he has been invited to dance and teach around the world, in many different cities and countries across 5 continents. 


In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has also competed in and won many different national and internationally recognized competitions starting in 2009 with the Korea Swing Festival. He went on to win first place in the Korean Lindy Hop Championships during that same year. In 2014, he blew crowds away by winning the Hellzapoppin Competition organized to celebrate Frankie Manning’s centennial. In 2014 he added another first to his list by being the first Korean dance teacher at Herrang Dance Camp. In 2017, he established the Triple Crown Swing Dance Academy to bring swing dance to a wider audience. The academy is located in Seoul, Korea. At present, he is actively engaged as a dancer, instructor, and judge, both nationally and internationally, and working to promote swing dance both domestically and internationally. He has led ‘Happy Feet’, a swing dance performing team, since 2020. In addition to hosting a variety of performances and events, ‘Happy Feet’ has won several dance competitions both at home and abroad.
